105 My Monologues & Musings : International Day for Tolerance

105 My Monologues & Musings : International Day for Tolerance

Oh, God so Tolerant and Merciful,
I am so overwhelmed with the feelings of gratefulness as the very word Tolerance comes to my mind.
I consider myself very blessed as i keep on experiencing and enjoying your seemingly unending Tolerance of me.
Oh, Loving and Tolerant God,
Ever since I was born You have been very, tolerant of me and with me, right, God?
Yet I have often been intolerant of others!
In hindsight:
As a lad and as an adolescent i have often been mischievous, quarrelsome, and stubborn.
You have been very tolerant of me and patient with me, right, God?
Yet I have often been intolerant of others!

As i waded into my late teens and into my college days I have often been plagued by emotional upheavals and psychological immaturity!
You have been very tolerant of me and patient with me, right, God?
Yet I have often been intolerant of others!

As a Seminarian and as a young priest,
I have often been jealous and envious, naughty and haughty, dishonest and depressed, high-handed and ambitious, lusting after power, position, and all sorts of worldly pleasures.
You have been very tolerant of me and patient with me, right, God?
Yet I have often been intolerant of other!

My life has been interspersed with Your Tolerance and my Intolerance!

We humans have a strong tendency:
to be intolerant to anything and to anyone whom we don't like, who don't agree with us, who are different from us in color, creed, or cast!
Oh, God of Tolerance,
May we, your children learn to be tolerant with one another though we might differ in many ways and might be different in many ways!
Oh, God of Tolerance,
We are often steeped in Racial and Religious Intolerance leading us into mutually destructive violence and terror.
May we learn to correct our erring views and ways which lead us to hatred and violence.

Oh, Jesus, My Lord and My God,
You were very tolerant of your erring sisters and brothers.
You were very forgiving of your repenting sisters and brothers.
Thank you! for your merciful love!

Oh, Jesus, My Lord and My God,
Thank you for your immense Tolerance of me and with me!

Thank you for your:
Unconditional Love of me!
Unlimited Patience with me!
Untold Forgiveness for me!
Amen
