World Humanitarian Day
Dear Lord, Our God,
As we your children gratefully remember and honor all those who face danger and adversity while helping their fellow women and men in times of crises of wars and conflicts,
We pray that these courageous angels of mercy and help are safe and sound.
They, indeed,are one of the present day incarnations of the Good Samaritans!
Many a times a good number of them have lost their lives, many more have been seriously maimed or injured while on their active humanitarian service.
May they find solace, support, and strength from the world community!
May they and their selfless service inspire others to follow their footsteps!
May they and their families remain safe and happy!
May we your children learn to live in peace and harmony!
May we learn to acknowledge our differences and try to solve them in non-violent and peaceful ways!
May we struggle to control our instincts to violence and wars!
May we learn to readily come forward to help our sisters and brothers in need!
May we foster our inborn instincts to love and help each other, especially in times of wars and crises!
May we your children be more altruistic and humanitarian to each other!
May we find appreciate your image and likeness imprinted in us!
Oh, Lord my God,
May I learn to embody your commandment to love my neighbour.
Oh, dear Jesus, My Lord my God,
May I honestly and earnestly try to love my enemies and transform my life and theirs!
